Shoot Me Down
Owner Simon Stokes is keeping the faith. There has been a slight drop in business in his sleek Merrion Row eatery over the past year, but it’s nothing that can’t be overcome with a bit of moxy. Enter the two- and three-course pre-theatre menus (€23.85/€28.95), lunch specials and – we love this – Ladies Day on Saturdays, when the womenfolk can enjoy a complimentary Bellini with lunch on the terrace. Head chef Lorcan Cribben is still at the helm, ten years on. Can it really be that long since we sold our soul blagging a Friday-night table, only to get shot down by that gorgeous waitress? Try the pan-roasted scallops (€26.50). Book well in advance for the Stokes brothers’ other venue just around the corner, Residence.
