Colouring Books, Dad
Everyone knows the Café Bar Deli formula by now: fast, efficient service, decent food at decent prices, no muss, no fuss. The Georges Street and Grafton Street branches, both enormous and buzzing, are good for an express lunch or a stomach-filler before a night on the tiles, but in Ranelagh, there’s much more of a local vibe. It’s family-friendly – colouring pencils and faux coffees for the little ‘uns – and the waiters are more willing to chat than their city-centre counterparts. CBD’s menus have expanded in the past year – more pastas, more desserts – but no great shocks. Split a Cashel Blue and mushroom pizza (€14 for a large) and a feta and broccoli salad (€8.20/€10.80) with someone you love.

Good food made from fresh, quality produce. Good wine list. Very reasonably priced food and drink. Accomodating, friendly staff. Nice relaxed unpretentious atmosphere.

I liked it better the old way, when you could choose exactly what you wanted on your plate and where you wanted to sit. Now the menu's been revamped and you have to sit and wait for your order to be taken and brought to you. Not great when your in a hurry.

Prices are reasonable, but still not enough to entice in all-kinds. Still out of price-range for most students. Makes up for it with quick service and service with a smile!

Not a hugely extensive menu but that's a plus, you won't get lost in it and there's something for everyone. Food is delicious and packed full of exotic flavours. I recommend the egg pasta.
