Suburban Unicorn
There’s nothing surreal or particularly Spanish about this place. Maybe it was Dali’s dictum that inspired the owners: “Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating. It is either good or bad.” The food here is, honestly, good: European and Asian fare, with an emphasis on locally-caught seafood and interesting accompaniments. One might have organic salmon carpaccio with ruby grapefruit, shaved fennel, red onion and limoncello (€12), a strong, tangy opener. Follow with rack of lamb with broccoli and mascarpone crust, olive and oregano mash and mint chutney (€28). The prices are high for a suburban joint, and with few wines below the €30 mark (and many far above) it all adds up.
