Daily Bread
The recession has seen a lot of restaurants change their menus, their layout, their focus. Not Honest to Goodness. They’ve just changed their customers. “A lot of our old regulars, like architects, just aren’t around any more,” says owner Martin Ansbro. Bye bye, guys – we’re sorry to see you go. The Honest to Goodness Sloppy Joe (€5, Fridays only) has attained quasi-mythical status, with office workers in D2 clamouring for their weekly fill. These sandwiches are so good, we once tried to eat two of them in one sitting. Our sight is just about coming back now. Good news: there’s talk of an expansion or possibly even a move to bigger premises in the next year.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Just looking at the bread sitting on the shelf makes my mouth water. Hard to believe food so nice can be so cheap in Dublin

What can i say about this place? Over the last few years Honest to Goodness has become like a second home to me. This place is somewhere where you can meet up with friends for Breakfast and still be there at lunch. The owners Darragh and Martin are so friendly that you almost feel part of something special like a cool gang or a loving Family. Honest to Goodness is a special place, a true gem and it is at the heart and soul of modern Dublin. Long live the REVELOUTION.
