On theTiles
The staff shoot us confused looks as we ask for our bill. We ordered a mezze plate (around €25, feeds two or more), which is so massive there’s no way we can finish it all. I guess they find it hard to accept that we’re finished. Or maybe they don’t think we’ve tried hard enough. Not to worry, the Lebanese house red is keeping us happy. There are always a few Middle Easterners hanging around Hassan Assaf’s eatery, chatting, snacking, drinking mad-looking coffee. And quite a few Irish lads hanging around on Friday and Saturday nights when the bellydancer is in the house. Who can blame them? A very fun, very different spot for midweek lunch.
