Swan Song
Eileen Dunne and Stefano Crescenzi pretty much have the city’s Italian food needs sewn up, with their La Corte coffee shops, Dunne & Crescenzi and Bar Italia bistros, the new L’Officina in Dundrum and this, their fine-dining restaurant named after Stefano’s granny. Aw. Its lovely canalside building was home to Thornton’s until 2002; in fact, it’s where Kevin got his first Michelin star. Good karma. We love the crisp tablecloths, the old-school service, the gentle neighbourhood vibe. And the food? Head chef Alberto Vecoli regularly has truffles flown in from Italy, such is his dedication to superior ingredients. We recommend the fish ravioli (€15), and leave room for tiramisu with vin santo (€7.50). Make sure to sit upstairs.
