Get chewed out.
A young couple and their two children pass us as we enter Castleknock’s most lauded Chinese. There are two other diners in the restaurant. We are taken to our seats by a uniformed Chinese man who is sporting a large smiley-face badge.
After a few minutes, the couple who we passed earlier enter the room again with a suited manager. We watch a heated argument: apparently the management asked the couple on their way out if their children stuck chewing gum underneath the table.
A uniformed waitress (also wearing a large smiley-face badge) is saying that there was no-one at the table before them and there was no chewing gum either. There is now. The parents are appalled at the suggestion. The manager tries to defuse the situation with a wry smile. It doesn’t work. The lady ain’t satisfied. Eventually she and her partner leave, indicating that this will not be the end of the matter.
Other than that, the Cantonese duck was fine. Just fine.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Dublin - food is superb.
